More to do than just lying on the beach!
Where is Talborjt?
Talborjt is an area of central Agadir that runs from:
Rue Yacoub el Mansour in the north (street of the old bus station) to
Ave. Prince Moulay Abdallah in the south (one street north of Uniprix)
Ave. du General Kettani (RAM and banks) in the west to
Ave. du 29 Fevrier (Ensemble Artisinal) in the east
(east and west only as they relate to this map)
The local people of Talborjt are mostly BERBER Sousse and speak their own language called Tashelhait. They also have their own type of music, which varies in rhythms, and with many female singers and dancers.
Talborjt has a village feel to it and has several wide and open spaces and parks. Most of the buildings are only one floor high.
Since the 1960's Talborjt has been long renowned as the preferred international traveller's destination - being ideally placed as a base to further explore the Sousse area, the Sahara and the deep south of Morocco. From here, Tiznit, Goulimine, Sidi Ifni, Merleft, Marrakesh, Tafraout and Tarroudant are all easily accessible.
Permanent, suitable unfurnished rented accommodation is quite difficult to secure in Talborjt - it is a most desirable, central area. Most of the properties are shops, restaurants and hotels with the occasional apartment above. Many apartments only have upper slits as windows and are unbearably hot for most of the year. Rental properties are few and far between and in high demand, due to proximity to all of the local amenities, such as the souk, town centre and the beach area.
